The Strategic Routing Analyst, Outbound Logistics, is responsible for leading strategic modeling, analysis, and optimization initiatives across NDCP’s outbound transportation network. This role evaluates current and future-state routing strategies to determine the most cost-effective and service-driven solutions for the organization. The position plays a critical role in identifying network efficiencies, improving system utilization, and supporting data-driven decision-making across all divisions.
This individual will prioritize and manage incoming strategic modeling requests, develop clear before-and-after performance dashboards, and present actionable recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Supervision Exercised
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but may lead cross-functional project initiatives and influence stakeholders across multiple departments and regions.
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday through Friday; core day hours
Location: Duluth, GA; Hybrid 3-4 days in office
What you’ll do
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop and execute strategic outbound routing and network models to optimize cost, service, and operational efficiency.
2. Prioritize and manage cross-functional strategic modeling requests to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.
3. Create comprehensive before-and-after analyses, dashboards, and reporting tools that clearly quantify financial and service impacts.
4. Present strategic findings, business cases, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
5. Analyze and measure the financial and operational impact of proposed logistics changes across all divisions and regions.
6. Proactively identify inefficiencies, process gaps, and system utilization opportunities across the outbound network.
7. Partner with regional teams to adjust routing strategies in response to seasonal demand fluctuations, volume changes, and business growth.
8. Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics that measure routing efficiency, cost per mile/stop, service levels, and system effectiveness.
9. Collaborate with Transportation, Operations, IT, Finance, and other departments to ensure outbound logistics strategies align with enterprise systems and workflows.
10. Support and execute daily tactical routing plans when necessary to maintain continuity of operations.
11. Resolve internal and external routing issues through data-driven root cause analysis and corrective action planning.
12. Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives leveraging Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and analytics tools.
