The Operations Manager will be responsible for directing and coordinating the activities of the Warehouse and Fleet teams for the assigned distribution center. The Manager of Operations willinterface with the Transportation and Warehouse departments to ensure customer service goals are met while maintaining high standards in safety, service, and efficiency

 

Location: Burleson, Texas

Schedule: Monday through Friday; Day shift; Willing to work varying schedules to learn and support the various Warehouse Operations shifts

 

Responsibilities

1. Builds an open and honest communication line with direct and indirect reports. Interacts daily
with the drivers, delivery assistants & warehouse personnel.
2. Develops and ensures a positive, supporting and collaborative culture in the Operations group.
3. Oversees the tracking of fleet and warehouse performance against the established budget
and operational goals.
4. Continuously monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of work methods, procedures, controls
and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement of product.
5. Ensures all company policies, DOT, OSHA, and all other regulatory bodies are complied with.
6. Oversees the hiring, supervision, scheduling, and termination of personnel.
7. Forecasts staffing needs based on upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc.
8. Responsible for accurate inventory and productivity levels.
9. All other duties as assigned.

 

Supervision Exercised
This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.

 

Qualifications

• BS/BA Preferred
• 5 + years of warehouse operations experience as well as progressive hands-on
supervisory/management experience required
• Previous experience in a Food Distribution environment is preferred
• Financial acumen with previous P&L responsibility is preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software; strong focus on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Knowledgeable of OSHA Standards and regulations
• SAP experience preferred

 

WMS experience required (Manhattan experience is desirable)
• Experience using voice selecting applications preferred (Vocollect is desirable)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Physical Demands
• Ability to perform work at a desk or sit/stand workstation for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate a computer keyboard and to view a computer screen for extended periods
of time
• Ability to interact with employees and/or customers in the Distribution Center or customer locations with multi-temp environments, including Freezer, Refrigerated, and Dry goods areas.
• Ability to travel to customer locations, other Distribution Centers, Corporate Office, etc. as
needed

• Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
