Overview

The Fleet Equipment Manager is responsible for the management of fleet equipment located at distribution centers and associated hub locations by coordinating with both local and corporate operations leaders to ensure a maintained, safe and productive fleet.  In addition, the Fleet Manger will oversee fleet systems assuring compliance with regulatory and or company policies.

 

Location: Duluth, GA

Schedule: M-F, 8 am - 5pm (some weekends)

Compensation: Competitive salary with bonus potential. Paid weekly



Responsibilities

  1. Provide oversight and review of yearly fleet condition inspections and accident damage that must be reported and addressed. More frequently inspections as needed.
  2. Track and report cumulative damages by Vehicle or Asset.
  3. Develop and ensure compliance with policies for fleet damages. Monitoring repairs completed.
  4. Provide oversight controls to ensure driver pre and post inspections are performed, and any noted damages are resolved by the DC leadership.
  5. Develop and maintain policy and procedures for inspections.
  6. Review quarterly fleet PM report and informs distribution leaders and senior leadership of PM’s that need to be completed or past due.
  7. Review PM compliance during the quarterly business review with maintenance providers.
  8. Develop and ensure compliance with policies for fleet maintenance schedules.
  9. Monitor excessive and or approaching mileage capacities; work closely with operations leaders to reassign asset(s) to different workloads and or facility to balance miles.
  10. Lead change management related to fleet equipment and transportation systems projects.
  11. Lead regular meetings with this group to ensure alignment with key results and continuous improvement initiatives.
  12. Attend meetings and network as required to gather project information or data on new tools, equipment, vehicles or services.
  13. Support Transportation functions in development, communication and implementation of strategic initiatives, projects and/or programs.
  14. Develop strategies to continually ensure distribution center leaders follow and maintain implemented processes and standards.
  15. Partner with DOT Safety Director and other Transportation leadership to improve Fleet safety and drive innovation.
  16. Execute additional duties and responsibilities as assigned aligning with the Safety Department.

 

Supervision Exercised

This position does not directly supervise others.

Qualifications

  1. Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  2. 3 years of related experience within a transportation and logistics environment.
  3. General knowledge of WMS/TMS software required, Manhattan, Motive & Ortec preferred.
  4. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Project and Power Point.
  5. Strong organizational skills.
  6. Ability to lead projects independently while meeting all deliverables.
  7. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  8. Detail oriented.
  9. Strong written and oral communications skills as well as exceptional customer service.
  10. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
