Overview

The Pricing Analyst is responsible for the pricing process, including calculating sell-side pricing and reviewing buy-side pricing. Reporting to the Supervisor, Finance – Pricing, the Analyst provides analytical and financial support to the Finance team on price changes and ensures price changes are properly maintained in the system. This individual requires strong analytical skills, a pricing and/or finance background, and strong attention to detail. The position is responsible for gathering data using SAP and NDCP’s data warehouse, analyzing information, and preparing presentation data in Excel. This individual should have a strong sense of urgency and be self-motivated, with strong interpersonal skills to work closely with multiple departments across the company.

Responsibilities

  1. Support Supervisor and other key stakeholders with all elements of pricing and other ad-hoc work.
  2. Execute a process that ensures the Analyst is the main point of contact for all elements of pricing including research and analysis thereof, as needed.
  3. Update system(s) and identifies and communicates each period’s price changes to the Pricing Supervisor.
  4. Validate store-delivered pricing accuracy in system output by maintaining all variables in addition to product cost – taxability, sourcing fees, markup, etc.
  5. Review buy-side pricing for accuracy.
  6. Work with suppliers, Sourcing, and Finance partners to resolve price discrepancies.
  7. Ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

 

Supervision Exercised

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business Administration required
  2. 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and intermediate Excel user experience required
  4. Strong analytical and research skills
  5. Understanding of SAP strongly preferred
  6. Experience with business intelligence tools and/or data warehouse preferred
  7. Solid understanding of general business principles
  8. Demonstrated attention to detail as well as the ability to summarize results
  9. The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple, often competing, interests while working independently
  10. Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  11. Experience with supplier contracts as it pertains to terms and pricing.

 

Physical Demands

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate a computer key board and to view a computer screen for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, tug, pull up to fifteen (15) pounds
