    This opportunity is for a Strategic Sourcing Indirect Category Lead for the Co-op and will be a staff position reporting to the Strategic Sourcing Associate Director.  The Co-op is located in Duluth, GA and the selected candidate will be required to live in this area.


    The Category Lead will directly oversee select product & service categories as an essential part of the NDCP Sourcing team.  The Category Lead will assist in development and executes category strategy.  He or she will be responsible for researching products, generating supplier performance reports, negotiations, creating and analyzing bids, and making recommendations as to how to grow and improve the business through strategic sourcing.


    • Interface with internal departments such as Purchasing, Operations, IT, Finance as well as Dunkin’ Brands and its franchisees to provide optimum cross-functional planning and execution of Sourcing functions.
    • Collaborate with key business partners to set the strategic and tactical direction for sourcing efforts related to indirect spend category, ensuring integration with the business vision and strategy.
    • Participate and conduct business planning sessions in order to fully understand business requirements and sourcing needs.
    • Understand and monitor key spending trends, cost drivers, market factors, geographic considerations, and strategic importance of critical materials/services in order to implement appropriate sourcing strategies.
    • Locate, analyze, develop and maintain a consolidated supplier base to meet current and future needs of all purchased materials and services.
    • Enhance supplier development by communicating performance standards, developing joint improvement initiatives and actively soliciting formal feedback from NDCP members.
    • Utilize strategic sourcing tools to sustain continuous cost reduction programs for NDCP’s largest controllable expenditures and for the franchisee system.
    • Manage and resolve product supply issues as needed.
    • Prepare and analyze RFI, RFQ, and RFP as needed. Analyze responses and work with appropriate internal counterparts for best case award decision.
    • Negotiate lowest possible landed cost based on product specifications, quality, service levels, and industry conditions.
    • Lead enterprise-wide negotiations for business terms and develop contracts for the supply of both standard and complex products and services with new and existing vendors.
    • Ensure all supplier contracts are complete, properly executed and have considered all cost variables, including the unbundling of freight.
    • Ensure supply contingency plans and strategy are up-to date and easily activated in the event primary suppliers are unable to perform as required.
    • Establish and maintain strong supplier business relationships.




    The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience:

    • College Degree preferred in Business, Supply Chain, or relevant field
    • 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, or Strategic Sourcing desired
    • Aptitude to understand complex requirements in multiple indirect categories such as Warehouse Material Handling Equipment; Warranty Programs; Point of Sale Systems; IT & Telecoms; Travel; Facilities; Professional Services, etc.
    • Industry experience in Foodservice Distribution and a QSR environment is a plus
    • Experience in a purchasing Co-Op is a plus
    • Familiarity utilizing the 7 Step Strategic Sourcing Process

    • Excellent organizational and planning skills. Ability to structure and prioritize work to achieve specific deliverables in an environment characterized by tight deadlines and competing priorities.
