  • Overview

    The Director of Warehouse Operations will be responsible for leading all Warehouse operational activities while managing KPIs and financial performance of this Department.  This position leads and directs labor planning, facility maintenance, inventory accuracy, material handling, and sanitation of the distribution center. 

     The Director of Warehouse will interface with all departments to ensure customer service goals of order accuracy are met while maintaining high safety standards and good management principals.  This position facilitates the training of front line supervision through mentoring, teaching, and one-on-one coaching.


    • Coaches, trains, and develops employees both informally (on-floor coaching) and formally (written evaluation). Fosters growth within the organization and implements succession planning.
    • Builds an open and honest communication line with direct and indirect reports. Interacts daily with warehouse hourly staff.  Develops and ensures a positive, supporting, and collaborative culture. 
    • Intimately manages warehouse performance against established budget and operational goals. Executes operations based on the case load generated by our Customer.  Leads initiatives to reduce operating costs on a cost per cases basis.
    • Continuously monitors the management team to assure work standards are achieved by all hourly employees. Enables an environment where coaching and mentoring of individual warehouse employee’s performance is fair, firm, and consistent.
    • Oversees the hiring, supervision, scheduling, and termination of personnel. Partners with HR to assure proper labor levels and managerial engagement.
    • Forecasts staffing needs based on upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc.
    • Responsible for accurate inventory and all receiving methodologies.
    • Assure sanitation schedules, standards, and Company quality assurance guideline are met and exceeded.
    • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
    • All other duties as assigned.





    • BS/BA Preferred (ideally in Logistics or Management)
    • 10-15 years of progressive management experience in warehouse operations  
    • Food service or consumer goods distribution experience required that includes experience in multi-stop and multi-temp deliveries (frozen, refrigerated, and dry goods)
    • Demonstrated expertise in motivating and providing supportive leadership to a large staff – experienced in public speaking at the hourly and executive level
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
    • Expert knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
    • Experienced in engaging employees in maintaining a safe work environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication & interpersonal skills
    • SAP & Manhattan experience preferred
    • Strong financial acumen and experience in interpreting financial performance to budget
